HOT FOOTBALL TRANSFER GOSSIP: Ronaldo ‘will join Man Utd in 2016′

Some people are getting bored with the various nonsenses being written about Cristiano Ronaldo in the run-up to the launch of his new film ‘Ronaldo’, which is an excellent name for a film about Ronaldo. Not us. We’re lapping it up, and in fact we’re here to tell you about more of it.

Specifically, we can inform you that Cristiano has told a pal he will join Manchester United in the summer. And not any old pal, but one who actually used to play for Real Madrid. The claim is made in the Star, which has taken the revelation from a new biography about Cristiano Ronaldo entitled Cristiano Ronaldo: The Biography, which is an excellent name for biography about Cristiano Ronaldo - literally couldn’t think of a better one.

The book says that Ronaldo told the mystery team-mate the news in the summer of 2014, just as the player in question was leaving the club. This means it’s either Angel Di Maria, Sami Khedira, Xavi Alonso, Alvaro Morata or some boring reserve player.

So basically this means that Ronaldo will move back Old Trafford at the end of the season, unless he was lying, or unless the former Real Madrid player is lying, or unless the person that wrote the book is lying. Or in the event that none of them were lying but that Ronaldo has changed his mind since summer 2014. Exciting.

A less high-profile Real Madrid forward, 22-year-old Jese, is also in the news because Napoli are trying to buy him, which would be annoying for Liverpool and Arsenal because they also want to buy him, according to Talksport.

For anyone who is missing Ashley Cole, we have some good news. There is a “New Ashley Cole”, which for the majority of people who are not missing Ashley Cole may be quite bad news. Apologies. The Cole-esque left-back in question is called Rico Henry and he plays for Walsall. Top-flight clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are all on the trail of the 18-year-old, claims the Mirror, although we’re not sure what Cheryl thinks about it all.

The same paper reports that Polish midfielder Karol Linetty is a target for two of England’s Champions League-chasing rivals, Man City and Leicester, with the Foxes possibly lining up a swoop for the 20-year-old Lech Poznan star in January.

And finally, Arsene Wenger has revealed in the Independent that Arsenal released Harry Kane from their academy when he was eight years old and that he’s “a bit angry” about it.
