Ianis Hagi leads Romania celebrations as Rangers outcast handed megaphone duties

Ianis Hagi led Romania's wild celebrations after they comfortably dispatched Ukraine in their Euro opener this afternoon.

The Rangers outcast came off the bench for the nation as they swept aside their opponents thanks to goals from Nicolae Stanciu, Razvan Marin and Denis Dragus. It was a day for Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to forget as he made two errors which led to the goals but for Hagi it was one to savour.

At full-time the party started for the Romanians who had won their first group game since beating England all the way back at Euro 2000 and captain Stanciu handed off the megaphone duties to a game Hagi.

The Ibrox man, who spent six months last season on loan at Alaves, started the song and chants for the supporters behind the goal as the dancing and jumping in unison kicked off.

Hagi and his country have now given themselves a massive opportunity to reach the knockout stages with their victory with Belgium facing off against Slovakia this evening in the same group.
