International football makes its return this week and the Uefa Nations League sees England back in action against Iceland.

Last time out in the 2018/19 version of the relatively new competition, Gareth Southgate‘s team won their group and ended third overall.

Iceland finished bottom of their own group and would have been relegated, but a restructuring to four-team groups means they remain among the Group A sides.

Gareth Southgate has seven uncapped players to consider handing debuts to, though the main concern might be ensuring players are all fit with the start of the season fast approaching.

Prediction

England might want to set the record straight after their notorious European Championships defeat to the same opposition, but realistically this will be about match fitness for some and experience for others ahead of the new season starting.
