Rio de Janeiro (AFP) - A Brazilian court on Monday agreed to transfer top Irish Olympic official Patrick Hickey from jail to house arrest due to ill health while he is investigated over an alleged ticket scam.

The Rio de Janeiro judge ordered that "given the patient's critical state of health, his preventative detention be converted to house arrest," in a written ruling seen by AFP.
