India Squad For T20 World Cup 2021: 5 Deserving Players Who Could Miss Out. Fans got filled with excitement after the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the fixtures for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. Notably, The marquee tournament is scheduled to begin on 17 October and the summit clash of the event will take place on 14 November in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli led-India will be entering the tournament as one of the favorites to win the trophy. Notably, India is placed in Group 2 alongside New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. They will face arch-rivals Pakistan in their first match of the World Cup event.

However, the final squad for the T20 World Cup 2021 has not been announced by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The job for the selection committee won’t be an easy one considering the large pool of talent team India has, many big names despite performing well in the second half of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 might miss out on the world cup squad.

5 Mohammed Shami

The 31-year-old Mohammed Shami is of the most skillful and reliable pacer team India currently has. He has got that pace and accuracy to destroy the opposition batting unit. In the Indian Premier League 2019 & 2020, he picked 19 & 20 wickets respectively. He is the first-choice pacer of Punjab Kings in the IPL.

He is currently part of the India tour of England 5-match Test series and has been a pretty good job for the team with the ball and even with the bat he has smashed a half-century.

However, his healthy amount of experience and brilliant performances might not be enough to get his name on the T20 World 2021 squad list. Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the top 2 choices. Meanwhile, the CSK bowler Deepak Chahar has been continuously delivering good performance in T20 format.

So these three names are ahead of Shami and even Shardul Thakur who was given preference over Deepak Chahar in the recent England T20I has been doing an amazing job with the bat. So India might overlook Mohammed Shami and they might go with other options available in the camp.

4. Kuldeep Yadav

The left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has seen a major downfall in his cricketing career. Since 2019 his career growth chart has been going just downwards. Kuldeep Yadav was dropped from the Indian team and even Kolkata Knight Riders.

As KKR got Varun Chakravarthy the mystery spinner who did an amazing job for them in the team. Recently he made his come back in international cricket in the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and he was able to deliver good performance for the team.

Also, Kuldeep Yadav has got very good T20I numbers. However, this might not be enough to get him selected for the T20 World Cup 2021. Varun Chakravarthy alongside Rahul Chahar are ahead of Kuldeep Yadav in the race for World Cup selection.

India is expected to go with Rahul Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Varun Chakravarthy as three spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar are also good all-round choices. So there will be no surprise if Kuldeep Yadav doesn’t get selected in the Indian team for T20 World Cup.

3. Ishan Kishan

The wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is one of the most incredible batsmen to watch out for in the Indian Premier League. He made his presence felt in international cricket with the exceptional half-century in his first T20I match against team England. Meanwhile, his ODI debut was also just way too impressive as he smashed a six on his first ball and even scored an amazing half-century

Ishan Kishan was the top run-getter for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2020, scoring 516 runs at an average of 57.33. Also, he has got that aggressive intent in batting paired with amazing wicketkeeping skills, which might be helpful for any team in the world.

However, with already two wicketkeeper spots fixed ( KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant), India might overlook Ishan Kishan and he might miss out on the squad despite having a very good run in the second phase of the Indian Premier League.

2. T Natarajan

Thangarasu Natarajan is a supremely talented left-arm pacer and since joining the Orange Army ( Sunrisers Hyderabad) in the Indian Premier League. He has got recognition like never before. Notably, India always had a scarcity of left-arm speedsters.

Meanwhile, T Natarajan is one of the left-arm quicks who has the skill to become a dominant pacer. Natarajan has been earning a lot of praise from fans and experts for delivering exceptional Yorkers which even led him to get the name of Yorker King by some cricket pundits.

Meanwhile, Natarajan was once considered as a confirmed choice for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. He was expected to be among the top 3 Pacers. However with his injury concerns and not soo good form in the first phase of IPL might lead to him not getting picked in the World Cup team.

1. Shikhar Dhawan

Gabbar Shikhar Dhawan is one of the best white-ball openers teams India has. However, since the rise of KL Rahul in the shorter format, Shikhar Dhawan is being neglected by the Indian management.

Shikhar Dhawan has been continuously scoring good runs in the Indian Premier League. However, still, he is not getting a chance to be the first choice opener of the Indian cricket team. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul being the two first-choice openers for the T20 Internationals format.

Shikhar Dhawan has a lot of experience in T20Is as he has already smashed 1759 runs. However, the major criticism Dhawan faces is for his strike rate, Notably, Dhawan has scored his T20I runs at a strike rate of 126.36, which is the main reason behind India favoring KL Rahul over him.

Dhawan has scored over 400 runs in the Indian Premier League every year since 2016. Also when the first phase of IPL 2021 ended he was at the top of the highest runs scorer list. However, Still, India might not consider him for opening the innings for them in the marquee T20 World Cup 2021.
