It was quite a mixed day for the Indians on day 1 of the 4th test match between India and England at the Oval in London. He slammed seven boundaries and three sixes and became the highest contributor to the team. It was because of his stunning effort that India reached a total of 191 runs.   • Shardul Thakur became the second-fastest by an Indian in Tests to score a half-century. Thakur scored 50 runs in 31 balls. Kapil Dev was the fastest Indian to score a half-century.

  • This is the 11th time that the Indian team has been bowled on a score that is less than 200 runs.
