Indiana boys sectional play begins tonight
Feb. 26—If you don't see your favorite Wabash Valley high school basketball team in the schedule below, you can take a deep breath and relax for a couple of days.
Your team has drawn a sectional bye and is safely in the Friday night semifinals, which is where all the teams you're seeing are trying to get to that point.
The best game Tuesday involving a Valley team is probably the one that's farthest away. Sullivan will be playing Paoli at Paoli in a Class 2A sectional that has all the favorites on the same side of the bracket; the winner between the Golden Arrows and the Rams faces Linton on Friday.
West Vigo coach Joe Boehler may have been hoping for a revenge tour at the Class 3A Owen Valley Sectional, and if so he got one of his wishes. The Vikings play the host team at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Clay City begins what the Eels hope is a long postseason journey against another host team at the Class A White River Valley Sectional.
And an interesting Wednesday night game finds South Vermillion playing Indian Creek at Owen Valley. Indian Creek may have a strength-of-schedule advantage, but the Wildcats are certainly the hotter of the two teams right now.
Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South and Northview join Linton among the sectional contenders waiting in the wings.

Tuesday — West Vigo (11-12) vs. Owen Valley (7-15), 6 p.m.
Wednesday — South Vermillion (14-8) vs. Indian Creek (14-8), 6 p.m., followed by Brown County (8-13) vs. Edgewood (12-12)
Class 2A, at Greencastle
Tuesday — Cloverdale (2-21) vs. North Putnam (14-9), 7 p.m.
Wednesday — South Putnam (7-15) vs. Greencastle (14-9), 6 p.m., followed by Parke Heritage (19-5) vs. Riverton Parke (3-20)
Class 2A, at Paoli
Tuesday — Sullivan (18-5) vs. Paoli (18-5), 7 p.m.
Wednesday — South Knox (9-13) vs. Mitchell (12-11), 6 p.m., followed by Eastern Greene (4-18) vs. North Knox (7-16)
