'Interesting' - Leeds ace Kamara reveals his close friend in the Saints dressing room

LEEDS United midfielder Glen Kamara is close friends with former Rangers teammate Joe Aribo - but not this weekend.

The pair played 114 times together for the Scottish side, including in a 2022 Europa League final in which Aribo scored.

The 28 year old Finnish international admitted the group chat has been lively in the build-up to this weekend's Championship playoff final.

Kamara and Aribo are set to line up directly against each other in the midfield of opposite sides Leeds and Saints.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Kamara admitted: "It's an interesting one.

"We were at Rangers together for years and we still communicate daily so it'll be nice to play against him again.

"We have a lot of similar friends as well, we're in a friendship group and everyone is talking about it like 'You or Joe, what happens?'

"But it's just a one-off game and I'm looking forward to it," he continued. "He's a top, top player.

"Strengths...he's got too many. You just don't expect - I don't even know how to word it - he's unpredictable.

You don't know what he's going to do, sometimes he might hold up the ball, and sometimes he might do you with pace or skill.

"Sometimes it might be his passing. That's the kind of player he is."

Kamara, who came through the Arsenal professional youth system, refused to comment on what Leeds have been doing to prepare.

"If this interview is going to go out then I'm not going to reveal anything," Kamara said.

"I don't want to reveal too much but we're definitely working hard on the training pitch for this game and we've had a full week of training."
