Ireland host France to end an entertaining round of Six Nations rugby in Dublin, following a predictably thumping victory for England over Italy to provide Eddie Jones with an ideal response to the defeat last week in the Calcutta Cup, while Wales pulled off an epic comeback to shock Scotland at Murrayfield.

But now Les Bleus are in action and will be expected to prove their status as favourites in their first proper test in this year’s tournament after comfortably dispatching the Azzurri 50-10, which included seven tries.

Ireland will be relishing their underdog status and a chance to rally after suffering defeat last week against Welsh.

Can the French put on a statement? Fabien Galthie believes so, with the ominous belief that there is “significant room for improvement”.
