Istanbul will host the 2020 Champions League final, it has been confirmed.

UEFA have also been announced that that year’s Europa League final will take place in Poland, with the tiny town of Gdansk selected.

The city is of course well remembered by Liverpool fans, with this weekend’s finalists lifting the European Cup in a thrilling match with AC Milan in 2005 at that venue.

Istanbul’s 76,000 Ataturk stadium was picked ahead of Lisbon’s Estadio da Luz for the prestigious showpiece event.

The Super Cup between the Champions League and Europa League winners will be at Estadio do Dragao in Portugal.

Meanwhile the women’s Champions League final will be held at Austria Arena in Vienna, the governing body have announced.

This weekend Champions League final sees Real Madrid looking to win it for an historic third time in a row when they take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in Kiev.
