Jaguars come up short against Blinn despite Riggans' 26 points

Feb. 8—BRENHAM — Despite netting 26 points from sophomore Anthony Riggans, Jacksonville College was unable to collect a victory in Brenham Wednesday evening where Blinn College earned a 94-70 triumph over the Jaguars.

Riggans, who led all players in scoring, shot 50% (9-18) from the field and 50% (5-10) from three-point range and hauled in eight rebounds.

Also finishing in double figures for the Jagmen were Jared Duplechain (12) and Miles Williams (10).

JC (8-15, 2-10) trailed by a manageable nine points at halftime, but the Buccaneers (went on to outscore JC 53-38 in the final segment in route to the win.

Turnovers hurt the Jags as JC committed 13 gaffes compared to Blinn's seven.

At 2 p.m. Saturday the JC men will welcome Coastal Bend College to Curtis Carroll Fieldhouse.
