Jamie Carragher has explained the impact that Jurgen Klopp's legacy will have on Liverpool.

Sunday sees the Reds face Wolves in the Premier League clash at Anfield in Klopp's final match as manager. The German announced in January that he would be stepping down at the end of the campaign.

Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is expected to be Klopp's successor as Liverpool manager this summer. Before then, the Reds will play their final Premier League match of the season against Wolves.

Over the last few seasons, Liverpool have won eight major trophies during Klopp's tenure as manager. The most recent came with the triumph in the Carabao Cup final earlier this year.

Klopp has been in charge at Liverpool since October 2015 and will leave shortly before the ninth anniversary of his appointment. Now Carragher has spoken about the emotions that people will feel upon Klopp's departure and compared his legacy to that of legendary former manager Bill Shankly.

"I'm sure it'll be emotional for a lot of people, no more so than the man himself," Carragher told Sky Sports. "It's not just about this season, or today, it's almost nine years. When I came in today - this place is unrecognisable from when he first arrived.

"There's two new stands, that's before you get to what you've seen on the pitch. He's been part of the old Liverpool and the new Liverpool - the training ground, getting back to winning ways.

"The biggest legacy is that the man we expect to take over after him, the big thing is he plays like Klopp. When you talk about replacing him, it's very difficult to replace the man - but his biggest legacy will be the style of football.

"That goes back to what Bill Shankly did, he set a way of playing, principles which were set for the next 30, 40 years."
