Jets draft two different players named Michael Carter in 2021 NFL draft

The New York Jets have a type. As long as your name if Michael Carter, you've got what it takes to play for the team, apparently.

The Jets pulled a possible NFL draft first Saturday, selecting two players with the same name. The team drafted its first Michael Carter — a running back from North Carolina — in the fourth round. The following round, the team selected its second Michael Carter, a safety from Duke who goes by Michael Carter II.

The moves drew some predictable jokes. Some fans speculated that the Jets actually took the wrong Michael Carter in the fourth round, so they had to get the guy they actually wanted in the fifth round. This wasn't actually what happened, as the Jets selected safety Jamien Sherwood in between the Michael Carter picks, but it's still funny because it's the Jets.

Michael Carter and Michael Carter have fun with being drafted by Jets

Both Michael Carters seemed to appreciate the humor in the situation. Upon finding out the Jets drafted Michael Carter II, Michael Carter tweeted at his "twin."

The two should expect to see a lot more of each other once rookie camps open. They might even find themselves going head-to-head in some pass-catching drills.

Who will come out victorious in those matchups? We feel confident saying it will be Michael Carter.
