Jim Goodwin has revealed Dundee United are in talks with FOUR summer targets as he continues his summer overhaul.

The newly-promoted Tangerines have already added six new faces to their Championship-winning squad during the close season, with Jack Walton, Dave Richards, Will Ferry, Vicko Sevelj, Ryan Strain and Kristijan Trapanovski all signing up. A whopping 15 players have been released too as Goodwin builds a completely new-look starting XI for the Premiership campaign.

The Tannadice boss said: "We've made some good signings. The capture of Ryan Strain is a real coup. Vicko has looked brilliant in the couple of weeks he's been training. He is exactly what we thought we were going to get. I'm delighted to bring Jack Walton back and Will Ferry was one we did reasonably early. We're in good shape but there's still a lot of work to do. We need to add four or possibly five new faces.

"We are talking to another four players at the moment, in different positions. These things are ongoing. Some deals are quicker in happening than others.

"We've done a lot of business and other clubs have been relatively quiet. There hasn't been a lot of movement across the league. Given our predicament and the players we lost last season there was a big turnover. We had to make sure we were proactive and we've shown that.

"We need to strengthen the middle of the park. We have Craig Sibbald and Ross Docherty in there, who would be regular senior players. We also need to strengthen the top end with more options. Tony Watt and Louis Moult are experienced, Rory MacLeod has had a good pre-season and Owen Stirton is doing well but we do need to add a bit more experience in that area.

"We are looking at least another three attacking options. Once we get two more midfielders that might leave a bit of scope for another defensive option."
