John Souttar and Craig Gordon set for Scotland Euro 2024 squad omissions as Steve Clarke makes tough calls

John Souttar is set to join Craig Gordon as the two members of Steve Clarke's provisional Scotland squad cut for Euro 2024.

Gordon, we told you yesterday, won't be on the plane to Germany with Angus Gunn, Zander Clark and Rangers-bound Liam Kelly all preparing to travel ahead of the Hearts man. A lack of game time for his club appears to have worked against him with just seven appearances to his name this season and Souttar looks to have suffered a similar fate.

The Ibrox centre-half, 27, has dealt with injury issues of his own over the course of the season albeit he did manage 43 outings in all competitions.

The former Dundee United defender has nine caps so far and hoped to add to that number with this evening's fixture against Finland to come as their final warmup match before taking on Germany in Munich on June 14.

Now it's being widely reported that the pair will be the two unfortunate players dropped after Clarke brought in both Lewis Morgan and Tommy Conway for the withdrawing Lyndon Dykes and Ben Doak.
