John Terry sends Harry Kane message following Antonio Conte’s arrival at Tottenham

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has sent Harry Kane a message in the wake of Antonio Conte’s appointment as Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Terry, who worked alongside Conte during the final days of his Stamford Bridge career, commented on an Instagram post from 433 with the message: “I hate to say it but what a signing this is. The players will love Antonio and his staff. Be ready to go to work @harrykane.”

The idea of Conte working alongside Kane is fascinating.

On paper, the two should work well. During Conte’s time at Inter Milan, he moulded Romelu Lukaku into one of the best strikers in the world after a relative down-period in his career and has previously spoken about how “devastating” Kane can be.

While Kane was both the top goalscorer and the top assister in the Premier League last season, much has been made about his form since England’s Euro 2020 campaign.

Having been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer, Kane has only mustered one goal and one assist in the league so far, leading to criticism.

Still, following the arrival of a manager of Conte’s standing, perhaps we will soon see the Spurs star return to form.
