Jonas moves closer to Games

Natasha Jonas took a step closer to Olympic qualification as she beat British rival Becky Price at the women's World Boxing Championships in China.

Lightweight Jonas, 27, advanced to the last 32, where she will face Swiss fighter Sandra Bruegger, with an 18-8 points victory.

However, she is still three wins from securing the selection standard with Jonas needing to win a medal or finish one of the top three Europeans to book her slot in the 60kg class at London 2012.

Flyweight Nicola Adams, the European champion, and middleweight Savannah Marshall are also representing Great Britain in Qinhuangdao.

Adams faces Belarusian Yana Levankova in the last 32 tomorrow while Marshall is in action 24 hours later against American Claressa Shields.
