Jordan Henderson breaks silence on Jurgen Klopp exit as Liverpool message sent

Jordan Henderson has taken to social media to thank Jurgen Klopp for their time together at Liverpool.

Klopp ended his near nine-year stay at Anfield on Sunday as the Reds beat Wolves 2-0 before a guard of honour and a special presentation was undertaken for the outgoing manager and his staff.

Henderson was Klopp's captain upon the German's October 2015 through to the skipper's 2023 exit when he joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq for around £12m.

Henderson's social media made no reference to Klopp on Sunday as the Liverpool celebrations and tributes for their manager were ongoing but the Ajax midfielder posted on Monday morning with a short message to his former coach at Anfield.

Alongside a grayscale picture of the pair from when Liverpool won the 2019 Club World Cup in Qatar - which was the first trophy of its kind for the Reds - Henderson wrote: "Thank you for everything Boss @Kloppo".

England midfielder Henderson was Klopp's captain for seven trophy wins that included a first league title for 30 years in June 2020 and the Champions League in Madrid back in 2019.

In what were emotional scenes after the final whistle at Anfield on Sunday, Klopp was presented with plaque from club owners Fenway Sports Group before he gave a speech to the 60,000 inside the stadium on the day thanking them for their support while also calling for new coach Arne Slot to get the same backing.

An end-of-season party was held at The Titanic hotel on Sunday evening to honour the departing Klopp.
