Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich could be on the move in this summer's transfer window. The 29-year-old is coming toward a decade of representing the German giants but that impressive tally may not be reached before his current contract expires in 2025.

Arsenal have been linked to Kimmich over the last few transfer windows and those are likely to return given the real possibility of a departure over the coming months. Barcelona have also shown interest in Kimmich with a clear update on the midfielder recently provided by club president Joan Laporta.

football.london has already reported that the Gunners are unlikely to sanction any marquee deals this summer and signing Kimmich likely fits into that category. However, new reports on Bayern's potential asking price show it could be a too-good-to-be-true transfer opportunity for Mikel Arteta and Edu.

With that said, football.london has taken a look at the all the latest updates surrounding Kimmich's future at Allianz Arena amid links to Arsenal.

Bayern transfer stance

Bayern are open to selling Kimmich if a substantial offer arrives with contract extension talks at a standstill, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Sky Sports Germany have further backed that up by revealing that Kimmich is one of no fewer than six top stars Bayern are open to offers for this summer.

Kimmich admission

Earlier this month, Kimmich offered an update on his future ahead of the European championships with Germany.

“That‘s not just up to me, but also on the club," he admitted in a press conference. "The situation isn’t uncertain for me; I still have a year left on my contract,” he told reporters.

“My focus is on the Euros. After that, I’m sure there will be a discussion. Bayern is my first point of contact.”

Stunning price tag update

Despite his ability, Kimmich could available for potentially as little as €35million (£29.7million), as per Mundo Deportivo.

Talks over a new deal with Bayern have struggled to progress and as such Bayern may feel forced to sell this summer as opposed to losing him on a free 12 months later.

Barcelona decision

Alongside Arsenal, Barcelona have been targeting Kimmich for some time but judging by the comments from Laporta, their interest does not look set to become concrete this summer.

Speaking to 'The Presidential Podcast' on Barca One, he said: "I don't think we will go for big names, as well as we don't plan to sell our stars. We're looking for new winger and new midfielder. We also have our own talents who could cover those position."
