Arsenal transfer target Joshua Kimmich has decided the club he wants to join if he leaves Bayern Munich this summer, it has been claimed. The Germany international sees his contract at Allianz Arena expire in 2025, with new manager Vincent Kompany having plans for his midfield that do not include Kimmich.

For the last eight years, the versatile 29-year-old has been at the centre of Bayern's success, but they now risk losing him for nothing. With a possible extension not appearing on the cards, interested clubs could strike a bargain deal for as little as £30million, being firmly aware of the position Bayern find themselves in.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, the Gunners are joined by Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona as the only clubs Kimmich is willing to join. From Kimmich's point of view, the situation is clear.

When quizzed on his future before the start of his Euro 2024 campaign with Germany, Kimmich said: "Oh, great question. Well, the situation is absolutely clear: I have a contract with FC Bayern until 2025, so it's not mainly up to me to be active right now."

With Arteta and Edu likely hoping to strike a deal for Kimmich, a huge update on his potential next club has emerged. According to the Daily Star, Kimmich wants to join Man City this summer as he sees a potential reunion with Pep Guardiola.

As such, it has been claimed that Kimmich has told his representatives that he wants to sign for the Premier League champions. Where exactly the experienced midfielder would fit into Guardiola's team is unclear, with Rodri the man in his preferred position and club captain Kyle Walker the player occupying right-back.
