Jurgen Klopp's agent Marc Kosicke has dismissed as "nonsense" reports the former Liverpool manager is to become new head of football for the Red Bull group.

Klopp left the Reds last month after almost nine years in charge during which he won the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two League Cups and a Community Shield.

The German made clear in January when announcing his shock exit that he would be taking a break from the game for at least 12 months, having been in the dugout for almost all of the previous 23 years.

That, though, hasn't stopped speculation linking Klopp to a number of roles, with reports in Austrian news outlet Salzurger Nachrichten suggesting he has been approached to become the football chief at Red Bull, similar to the position now held at Fenway Sports Group by Michael Edwards.

However, Klopp's adviser Kosicke was unequivocal when asked about the claim by Sky Germany. "Total nonsense," he said. "There's nothing to it!"

Liverpool have forged close links with the Red Bull group in recent times having signed Naby Keita, Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig and Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg.

And Pep Lijnders, who worked alongside Klopp at Anfield, last month took over as new head coach at Salzburg with Liverpool's former elite development coach Vitor Matos as his assistant.
