Justified: City Primeval star Timothy Olyphant teases future seasons of the spin-off
Justified: City Primeval star Timothy Olyphant has teased the prospect of the spin-off getting more seasons in the future.
The actor will reprise his role as Raylan Givens in the continuation of FX’s Justified, with the spin-off currently billed as a limited series event.
Following the series’ premiere at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Olyphant revealed to a live audience that he would consider future seasons of the spin-off.

“I’d show up [for further seasons],” he said (via Variety). “I had a good time. Every time we’ve done this I’ve had a good time.”
The series, which is due to premiere on July 18, is set 15 years after the events of the parent series, with Givens now living in Miami with his daughter.
“A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends [Raylan] to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again,” reads the logline.

“Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught in between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well. These three characters set out on a collision course in classic Elmore Leonard fashion, to see who makes it out of the City Primeval alive.”
As well as Olyphant, the series will star Aunjanue Ellis, Boyd Holbrook, Adelaide Clemens and Vondie Curtis Hall, with Olyphant’s real-life daughter, Vivian, playing Raylan’s daughter. The miniseries is an adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit, which was published in 1980.
Justified: City Primeval will premiere on FX on July 18 in the US; there is currently no released date or broadcaster for the UK.
