Leeds United could be boosted by the return of a handful of players from injury in the coming days, with Marcelo Bielsa confirming three more are on the comeback trail.

His side face West Ham United on Monday night, looking for a victory which could push them into the top half of the Premier League table.

That match might come too soon for the comebacks, but in the Premier League 2, Leeds Under-23s face Wolves on Friday and a number of individuals could feature there, including key midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

“Some players who are coming back from injuries will be playing in the game tomorrow,” Bielsa confirmed in a press conference.

As well as Phillips, the first-team boss was asked about fellow absent pair Rodrigo Moreno and Jamie Shackleton, with Bielsa acknowledging they could also see match involvement soon.

“It all depends how they evolve in the following days.”

Ian Poveda has been a regular sub option for Bielsa and he is another working back to fitness, having been on the bench for the U23s in their last match.

Leeds’ U23s are top of the table in the Premier League 2, Division 2 - which would earn them promotion to play the likes of Manchester United, Man City and Liverpool next season if they remain there.
