Kate Middleton has been given a prestigious new title from Queen Camilla
Forget Keeping Up With the Kardashians, it's more like keeping up with the Royals. This year has seen major changes and events take place for the entire family, all due to Queen Elizabeth II's passing last September.
From King Charles' Coronation to his first birthday parade as monarch/Trooping the Colour, the Royal kids' have also experienced their own official title updates. So all in all, there's been a lot to digest, wouldn't you say?
But it's not about to stop there, as Kate Middleton aka the Princess of Wales is also set to use another new title she acquired for the very first time.
It comes as King Charles and Queen Camilla have arrived in Scotland ready for Royal Week, which will be Charles' first as King. The week of events is also known as Holyrood Week, an annual celebration of Scottish culture, and Will and Kate will be joining them for some of the official engagements.
To recap, when King Charles ascended the throne last year, his son, Prince William was not only promoted to Prince of Wales, but also Duke of Rothesay. The title has been tradition since the 14th century and is used by the heir to the UK throne when visiting Scotland.
This means that Kate was also automatically granted the title of Duchess of Rothesay, taking the moniker over from Queen Camilla.
However, the Princess of Wales - who was previously known as the Countess of Strathearn in Scotland - hasn't actually been to Scotland since claiming the title. Which means Royal Week 2023 will be the first time Kate will use the prestigious name.
The 41-year-old, alongside her husband, the Duke of Rothesay, will be attending multiple events together as part of the celebrations, including the National Service of Thanksgiving at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh.
