Kenny Miller agrees with Rangers Ibrox 'laughing stock' shout and urges club to get decision made

Kenny Miller has agreed with a fan's assessment that Rangers' stadium debacle makes them a "laughing stock."

The Light Blues are still to confirm which venue they will use for home games at the start of the 2024/25 season with Ibrox temporarily out of use due to delays with work on the Copland Road stand. It had been expected the improvements would be ready before the new campaign but a cock-up has resulted in the delay of some materials being delivered.

That has left them having to find a neutral venue to use for their early 'home' games, which will include league games, Champions League qualifiers and potentially a Premier Sports Cup last-16 tie. Fans are not liking the uncertainty and one called Clyde One's Superscoreboard to make the 'laughing stock' claim.

Miller responded: "Listen, I must say it was surprising to hear that news that Ibrox won't be ready. Obviously it was due to unforeseen circumstances, hold-ups and whatever it is but I agree with you, I don't think it looks good on the club in terms of organisation.

"Whatever the reasons are, could that have not just been kind of taken out of the equation? Particularly with the Champions League games, that's the one. You're going to be dealing with big league games as well, I get that. But the Champions League in particular - that Ibrox atmosphere has been such an important part of Rangers in their European games that they're not going to have now.

"And then the next part of it is 'well, where is it going to be?' Maybe Hampden is ruled out for reasons, maybe it's going to have to be Murrayfield. I just think, like Sean says, they need to make a decision. To let the fans know where they're going to be, what's going to be their home for the three, four, five games.

"The news today is that it might be back to Hampden which is obviously logistically easier for the Glasgow fans. But I just think as long as they know where it is, it's a 45-minure drive to Murrayfield and they could maybe get more fans in. They just need to get the decision made, let the fans know and this situation that isn't ideal, at least it gets put to bed."
