Chelsea may face difficulty in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the summer transfer window given a recent admission on his future. New head coach Enzo Maresca helped the midfielder shine at King Power Stadium when the duo were both at Leicester City but he is now at the Blues and could soon be joined by Dewsbury-Hall.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Chelsea have contacted Leicester to express interest in signing Dewsbury-Hall. A formal offer is yet to arrive but it has been noted that the 25-year-old is keen to reunite with Maresca.

Brighton have previously shown an interest in Dewsbury-Hall though the report adds he would only depart the Foxes for Chelsea with it clear he is perfect for Maresca's style of play. In Leicester's Championship-winning season, Dewsbury-Hall scored 12 goals and picked up 14 assists.

Plenty has been said about his future at King Power Stadium, though he appeared to suggest he has no plans to leave Leicester over the coming months.

"I have been here since I was a kid," he recently told BBC Sport. "I love everything about the club. I grew up and managed to play in the first team. I am happy. I have never said I am actively wanting to leave. That sort of stuff is not up to me. You never know with football - the season is about to start, so we will see."

On Maresca, he added: "Enzo was an unbelievable manager. I genuinely see him becoming a top manager, so it wasn’t a surprise to see he was in demand. It is weird having to change a manager after being so successful, but that’s football."

Considering his admiration of Maresca, it is perhaps no surprise he would only be open to signing for Chelsea if he completes a move this summer. The Blues have already confirmed two transfers in this trading period with deals for Marc Guiu and Lewis Kellyman currently being finalised alongside a positive development for Boca Juniors wonderkid Aaron Anselmino.
