'Kimmich or Musiala to Arsenal!' - Stunning summer transfer theory emerges as Edu deal 'confirmed'

Arsenal are yet to conduct any meaningful transfer business despite the summer window being open for two weeks.

Sporting director Edu and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta are keen to strengthen the squad as the north Londoners look to challenge Manchester City once again. Pep Guardiola's side won a fourth consecutive Premier League title last season and Arsenal will be keen to bridge the two-point gap which separated the two clubs.

One way to do that is by dipping into the transfer market and buying world class talent to improve the squad. football.london understands the priority this summer is a central midfielder although it's possible a new goalkeeper, defender and forward are also signed.

Interestingly, Gunners supporters were convinced on Thursday that the club are about to unveil a new signing following a video uploaded on TikTok. Celebrity 'SuperCar' dealer George Gehdu, who has more than 112k followers on TikTok, posted a video this week of him speaking to a client about a sale in England. The phone call mentions an individual moving from Germany to England, looking for a new car.

Later on in the call, the client on the phone confirms that the buyer is a footballer moving to a new club in England. The name of the club is bleeped out but Arsenal fans have gone into a frenzy thinking it is their club.

Of course, Arsenal fans have since suggested a number of players who the star could be. Serhou Guirassy, Jeremie Frimpong, Xavi Simons, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Benjamin Sesko have all been linked with the club.

One fan even replied with an image of Kimmich's reported car collection, which includes an Audi R8, BMW i8 and Rolls Royce Phantom among others. Another supporter replied: "The only player that comes to mind is Kimmich to replace Partey and offer us cover at RB too."

"Kimmich or Sane," a third added. Another said: "I’m hoping Musiala." A fifth had a theory of their own: "Mittelstadt? We’re looking for a LB. Either him, Kimmich or Musiala. Only ones I can think of that we might need. Wirtz of course but it wont be him."

Of course, it's unclear if the mentioned club is indeed Arsenal and if a player is close to joining the club or even if the video is nothing more than a publicity stunt. The Euro 2024 and Copa America tournaments have made it hard for clubs to complete business, with many players currently away with their respective nations.

Over the new few weeks we could see more deals announced, as international commitments draw to a close. Whether Arsenal announce a new signing in this time remains to be seen.
