La Liga Leaks: Alcacer ‘close to Barca switch’, Isco ‘wants new Real deal’

Hello there. It’s been a few days since the last La Liga Leaks but that’s due to the fact there’s been very little in terms of transfer speculation. Fear not though as today offers up at least a couple of stories which should peak your interest.

Valencia-based newspaper Superdeporte state Paco Alcacer is ‘closer than ever’ to joining Barcelona. Apparently the player’s head wasn’t in the game against Las Palmas because he’s got an agreement in place with the Calatan giants. Layhoon Chan and Suso Garcia Pitarch don’t want to sell but could be forced to because the player is desperate to make the switch. For me it was interesting that when captain Enzo Perez was substituted the armband went to Shkodran Mustafi, another player linked with a move, rather than Alcacer.

Later on in the article it mentions the agreement Peter Lim reached with Barcelona in his infamous trip to the Camp Nou a week or so ago. €30m plus add-ons, as well as the signings of Sergi Samper and Munir El Haddadi. It appears no one wants to make the first move. Alcacer is aware if he publicly asks to leave there’s no guarantee Valencia would sanction the sale and he’d be left in an uncomfortable position. If Valencia accept a proposal from Barcelona then it’s the club’s ‘fault’ in the eyes of the fans.

Isco is another player who might have looked at moving away this summer but according to AS he’s told both Juventus and Milan “no”. In fact, he didn’t only reject the moves but insisted his main objective was securing a new contract at Real Madrid. His current deal has just two years left to run.

And it seems that a bit-part role for Madrid is better than searching for pastures new at the moment. While Isco accepts that he’s behind Marco Asensio in the pecking order he’s also aware that he’s ahead of James Rodriguez, whose future looks less clear. Over in Italy they suggest Isco could be allowed to leave for around €40m in the later stages of the transfer window should Real fail to find a buyer for James.

David De Gea and Iker Muniain have both been found innocent in the ‘Torbes Case’ after a police report found the evidence against them was unreliable. A prostitute launched a court case against the porn director ‘Torbe’ and old messages appeared from the footballers talking to the lady in question. In Spanish magazine Interviu (NSFW) they claim police have ruled out bringing either footballer to court and have found inconsistencies in the woman’s testimony.
