La Liga Leaks: Transfer ban verdict for Real & Atleti, James to the Premier League?

MARCA’s lead story is that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid’s appeals over their transfer bans will be REJECTED by FIFA. The official word is expected to be announced before the end of this month and it would present a huge blow to both clubs’ future plans and, in turn, create a domino effect of transfer business this summer.

FIFA’s transfer ban cannot be implemented this summer as the window is already open and while both Madrid clubs maintain their innocence in terms of wrong-doing, there’s a chance they could push to have the winter transfer window available to them as well. However this wouldn’t follow the ban handed to Barcelona, as their sanction came into effect immediately after their appeal had been rejected.

Also in MARCA, while it appears Real have already missed out on N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, it hasn’t dampened speculation that they could sell certain players for the right price: notably James Rodriguez. The Colombian international followed up his stellar debut season with 12 months to forget and would be available if Real received an offer within the €80m range.

Apparently offers have come in around €60m but for that price Real wouldn’t even consider selling. James is set for a talk with Zinedine Zidane when he returns to preseason training but the Frenchman was concerned by the player’s attitude after he lost his place in the side. Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and even West Ham are keeping tabs on the situation should the meeting turn sour.

Plaza Deportiva and Superdeporte both run with the story that Dani Parejo could leave Valencia this summer - and maybe even join rivals Sevilla. The former Valencia captain looked set to start the new season with a point to prove but in a meeting with Pako Ayestaran and director of football Suso Garcia Pitarch, he admitted he has doubts about staying at the club.

Valencia see him as a vital part of their team for next season and have no intention of selling the player at present. One of the offers on the table is from Sevilla, something which interests the player but due to the relationship between the two clubs it would be difficult to see it happening. Parejo signed a new deal just last summer but other recent renewals, Antonio Barragan and Pablo Piatti, have both left the club already. Could Parejo be the next one?
