Lady Cougar wrestlers headed to 6A Regional

Feb. 10—Five Ada High School female wrestlers will compete at the Class 6A Regional Tournament Monday and Tuesday in Glenpool.

The action begins at 5 p.m. on Monday and will resume at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Natalia Palma will compete at 170 pounds for the Lady Cougars. She finished first in a meet at Wilburton, second at Gulf Shores, Alabama, and third at the Midwestern Conference Tournament and an event in Blanchard.

Palma has a 17-9 record this season.

Makenna Howell will compete at 145 pounds for Ada. She finished second at three tournaments — Blanchard, Carl Albert and the Midwestern Conference.

Howell recorded a third-place finish at the Supergirl 64 tournament in Tulsa and fourth during the trip to Gulf Shores.

Howell has an 18-9 record this season.

Fisher will compete at 105 pounds for the Lady Cougars. She won championships at the Blanchard Tournament and a meet in Wilburton. Fisher was runner-up at the Midwestern Conference Tournament and finished third in Gulf Shores. She settled for a fifth-place showing at the Supergirl 64 Tournament.

Fisher has an 18-6 record this season.

Two other Ada High wrestlers making the trip to Glenpool include Reilly Vietzke at 110 pounds and Makenzi Burden at 155 pounds.

Other schools competing at the Glenpool regional include Bartlesville, Bishop Kelley, Bixby, Booker T. Washington, Broken Arrow, Claremore, Collinsville, Coweta, Durant, East Central, Edison Prep, El Reno, Enid, Glenpool, Grove, Jenks, McAlester, Memorial (Tulsa), Midwest City, Muskogee, Nathan Hale, Owasso, Ponca City, Pryor, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Shawnee, Stillwater, Tahlequah, Westmoore, Will Rogers and Western Heights.
