LaLiga to show rest of 2019/20 season for free in nursing homes throughout Spain
LaLiga has announced it will make all of the remaining games this season available for free in nursing homes throughout Spain.
The competition is currently halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, but is scheduled to restart again on June 11 with the Seville derby between Sevilla and Real Betis.
That and all of the other remaining fixtures in Spain's top flight (plus the second tier, LaLiga Smartbank) will be available to nursing homes via LaLigaTVBar, the channel dedicated to cafes, bars, restaurants and public places.
"This gesture is aimed at breaking the isolation and loneliness that both the residents and the staff have endured following the COVID-19 health crisis, which has forced the confinement of all residents in care centres for the elderly," LaLiga said in a joint statement with TV company MEDIAPRO.
"After more than 70 days of isolation, the country's oldest fans will be able to enjoy the matches of their favourite teams.
"The transistor radio generation will now be able to watch the matches of one of the best leagues in the world in HD and with the most innovative audiovisual production."
