Lamar Jackson throws a pick 6 on first drive of day vs. rival Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense means business in 2020. Just how dominant is the Steelers’ D? Even last season’s MVP looks normal against them.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a pick six to Steelers linebacker Robert Spillane on his second pass attempt Sunday. It was Jackson’s third interception of the season, and the first interception of Spillane’s NFL career.

The undrafted Spillane joined the Steelers in 2019. He made his first start with the team against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7. Spillane had one major highlight in that contest, stopping Derrick Henry at the goal line.

It didn’t take long for Jackson to rebound. On the next drive, Jackson found Miles Boykin for a short touchdown.

Jackson was a perfect 3-for-3 on that drive.

He’ll have to keep playing at that level if he wants to take down the Steelers. Coming into the contest, Pittsburgh allowed just 1,452 passing yards this season, one of the lowest totals in the NFL.

While Jackson still managed to put points on the board, the Steelers’ defense came up huge in crucial moments. Jackson turned the ball over two more times, and couldn’t convert on two late 4th down plays, giving the Steelers a 28-24 win.
