Latest Rangers transfer news on Connor Barron and Reuell Walters

Connor Barron has officially left Aberdeen amid talk of a potential move to Rangers.

Philippe Clement faces plenty of competition for the Dons midfielder though with SIX other suitors - Hellas Verona and Bologna in Italy and Swansea, Cardiff, Plymouth and Stoke in England. Barron will reportedly make his decision this week but is now officially a fee agent after the Dons included him on their list of departing players in an update today.

Barry Ferguson reckons his old club would be taking a chance on the midfielder but it's one that he ultimately would go for. He explained: “I think he’s a good young player, is he going to really strengthen the Rangers midfield? It’s difficult when you play for a team like Aberdeen and you come with the pressure and the amount of stuff that is on your shoulders, the demands and expectations.

.“He’s a good player. At the price I would probably go and take a chance on him because when I’ve seen Aberdeen, he’s certainly impressed me but it is a whole different ball game when you go to Rangers.”

Another name said to be on Gers' radar was young defender Reuell Walters - a free agent after leaving Arsenal. However, the Athletic are reporting that the Gunners have a had a rethink and will go back and offer the 19-year-old fresh terms. Right-back isn't an immediate priority for Clement anyway and it's understood it was more of a passive interest in Walters.

Meanwhile, Alfredo Morelos' post Rangers struggles continue and he looks set for a surprise return to Colombia. The striker, 27, has just our goals in 29 appearances for Brazilian side Santos, who are counting the cost of relegation.

He's been made available and it's now being reported Atletico Junior in his homeland are close to agreeing a deal to take him back to Colombia for the first time since leaving eight years ago.
