Latest Rangers transfer news on Connor Goldson, Yusuf Kabadayi and Reuell Walters

Connor Goldson already had one option in place to potentially leave Rangers, but may now have another.

Steven Gerrard was targeting a reunion with his former Gers stalwart, along with captain James Tavernier, for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq. But a return to England could be on the cards with Birmingham City interested. Former Celtic coach Chris Davies is now in charge of the Blues and looking to return them to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Goldson still has two years left on his deal at Ibrox but is not guaranteed a regular spot in Philippe Clement's XI after being axed towards the end of last season. The 31-year-old is one of the higher earnings at the club and so it could be a good chance to cash in if a decent offer is received.

In terms of incomings, Gers were thought to be close to bringing in Yusuf Kabadayi as their latest signing weeks ago but that seemed to stall. Former boss Gio van Bronckhorst looked set to rival them for his signature after taking over at Besiktas, and it's now being reported a concrete offer has been put to the Bayern Munich winger from the Turks.

Reuell Walters was another name mentioned earlier in the window but wasn't a priority as the Light Blues already had two right-backs in Tavernier and Dujon Sterling. But Walters has now been released by Arsenal and with the chance of the skipper leaving, could be an option.

A Premier League defender Rangers did make contact over was Ben Johnson. But after he signed for Ipswich Town on a reported £60,000 a week, the Athletic have reported the Ibrox side were priced out of a deal.

Meanwhile, Gers have NOT made an approach for FC Twente defender Mees Hilgers. Rumours had linked them with the Dutch centre-back but his club have addressed that and insisted they've had no contact.

Clinton Nsiala is officially a Rangers player after his pre-contract kicked in following his AC Milan release. The defender told of his pride at moving to Ibrox and revealed one big factor in his decision.

Glen Kamara could be on the move just one year after leaving Glasgow with Stade Rennais lining up a swoop to tempt the Finland midfielder away from Leeds after their promotion failure.

While Filip Helander has a new club after signing for Omonia Nicosia after his Odense release.

Young Rangers goalkeeper Jay Hogarth is wanted by Queen of the South, Arbroath and Kelty Hearts on loan after a spell at Dumbarton.
