GUISELEY have made a double signing this week ahead of Saturday’s first pre-season friendly against Huddersfield Town.

Both players will be familiar with Lions supporters, having previously had spells at Nethermoor.

One returnee is centre-back Jake Lawlor, who has left Darlington to play under Mark Bower and Danny Boshell again.

He did so in their first spell in charge, spending five years in the club’s defence between 2013 and 2018.

The 33-year-old started life in Manchester United’s academy, and after departing Guiseley in 2018, he went on to play for both Harrogate and Hartlepool in League Two.

The other man coming back to Nethermoor is attacking full back John Lufudu, who played for the Lions during the 2020-21 campaign.

He won the Fans’ Player of the Season award, but then moved to the North-East to play for Spennymoor Town.
