Leaders Otley wobble again after battering but Addingham racing clear

OTLEY’S second defeat of the season in the Aire-Wharfe League Premier Division has seen their lead over second-placed Collingham cut to just eight points.

North Leeds opener Jason King, went run crazy against the Otley attack at The Homestead, scoring an astonishing 191 off 141 balls, as his side racked up a mammoth total of 360-3.

No Otley bowler escaped punishment, and the leaders were then dismissed for 202 to lose by a whopping 158 runs.

Opener Alex Atkinson (47) got the visitors off to a decent start, but No.6 Jake Ross (31 not out) was left marshalling the tail as the chase fell well short.

Third-placed Burley also suffered a heavy defeat - by 110 runs at Pool, who scored 310-6 after winning the toss.

Opener Logan Duval put Pool in the driving seat by scoring 107 off 113 deliveries and found willing partners in skipper Charlie Bell (83) and Kruthik Patel (68).

Burley had to wait until seven wickets had fallen before their first substantial stand - 75 between Dave Bulcock (53) and Sam Fox (42) - and they were eventually dismissed for 202.

There was better news for Horsforth Hall Park, who beat visitors Tong Park Esholt by two wickets in a run-filled affair, successfully chasing down 263-6 thanks to the brilliant Michael Loubser (127no) and in-form keeper Andy Bairstow (65).

Rawdon have dropped two places to ninth after another contest where bat was on top of ball, losing by six wickets to visiting Adel despite setting a testing target of 264.

Addingham continue to cut a swathe in Division One, defeating New Rover convincingly and extending their lead to 35 points as second-placed Beckwithshaw lost at Follifoot.

New Rover won the toss and chose to field, only to see Addingham’s openers Robbie Miller (67) and Ricky Palacio (76) put on 150.

They slowed down thereafter and were dismissed for 254, but that proved more than enough, as New Rover were toppled for 152, with Rob Ellis dismissing three of the top four in taking 3-15 off seven overs.

Olicanian are up to third after winning at Bardsey, chasing down 210-9 to record a six-wicket victory.

The Ollies hero was Neyko Stiglingh, who took 4-50 despite a wagging tail and followed that up by scoring 76 in the reply.

They overtook Ilkley, who dropped to fourth after a three-wicket setback at Guiseley, who climbed to fifth.

In Division Two, Menston’s promotion hopes took a knock in a 43-run home defeat to Skipton, who made 297-6 after being asked to bat.

Menston’s innings was going nowhere at 111-8 before George Marsden and Simon Panteli gave it some respectability, scoring 80no and 46no respectively.

Horsforth were also disappointed, going down by two wickets at home to Thackley, who restricted the hosts to 171-7 after sending them in.

Green Lane only used two bowlers at basement boys Rodley, who were dismissed for 84 in 23.3 overs after choosing to bat, with Neil Britton taking 4-36 and Jack Roberts 6-44.

Chris Bogdanos then scored 28 not out as the visitors triumphed by seven wickets inside 18 overs.

Next-to-bottom Leeds Modernians lost at leaders Kirkstall by eight wickets.
