Giro d'Italia: Dumoulin in pink as Quintana struggled in the 10th stage (TT)

16:30 Tom Dumoulin positioned himself as a serious contender for the GC win. The Butterfly will have to resist to Nairo Quintana in the next stages, but his progress in high mountain and time trial potential (the last stage is a flat time trial of 29km) will play in his favor. Pinot, Mollema and Nibali will have to be extremely offensive to reach the podium or the win. Geraint Thomas did a good time trial today and even if he is still far from Dumoulin, he gained some time on the rest of his opponents. The Team Sky member seems to have recovered from his crash and his ambition of climbing on the podium in Milan is still alive.

16:25: Tom Dumoulin (Team Sunweb) takes the lead of the race and the pink jersey. The Dutchman has an advantage of 2’23” on Quintana (Movistar), 2’38” on Mollema (Trek-Segafredo), 2’40” on Pinot (FDJ), and 2’47” on Nibali (Bahrain-Merida).

15:12 Vicenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) is the next one to start this 39.8km time trial.
