Liverpool confirm Arne Slot first interview date and time

Arne Slot has conducted his first interview after being appointed as Liverpool’s new head coach.

The former Feyenoord boss was named as Jurgen Klopp’s successor last month, and officially started in his new role on June 1. However, he is yet to be officially unveiled to the media following his appointment.

The Dutchman has been spotted on Merseyside though, prompting supporters to regularly query when they would hear from the 45-year-old for the first time in recent weeks.

But that wait is nearly over after Liverpool teased the release of their first interview with the Reds’ new head coach on Wednesday.

In a 10-second clip, Slot is seen taking a seat in front of the camera as the off-camera voice of LFC TV’s Peter McDowall asks him, ‘Are you ready?’ He responds by saying: “Yes, I am.”

In the accompanying social media post, the club confirmed that Slot’s first interview will be published at 4pm.

““Are you ready?”” they posted. “Today at 4pm... #WelkomArne”

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that Slot is set to discuss: “his decision to join the Reds, replacing Jurgen Klopp, his plans for pre-season, how much he’s looking forward to getting to work, and the conversations he’s had with a number of the players since officially taking post on June 1.”

While Slot took part in an exit interview with Feyenoord after it was confirmed that he would be leaving the club to take over at Liverpool, he did not speak to the Reds’ media channels ahead of his appointment being confirmed on May 20 following the end of the Premier League season.

His official unveiling to the media is still expected to take place at the start of July ahead of the Liverpool first team reporting back to the AXA Training Centre, with Slot recently enjoying his summer by holidaying in Ibiza.

But supporters now don’t have long to wait to hear from the Reds’ new head coach for the first time ahead of his maiden interview with the club being shared on Wednesday afternoon.
