Liverpool have confirmed that eight players will return for the first day of pre-season training today (Friday, July 5).

Friday will see the Arne Slot era at Anfield officially begin when the new Reds head coach takes charge of his first session at the AXA Training Centre. Slot is due to speak to the media for the first time in a press conference in Kirkby this morning.

May 19 marked the end of the Jurgen Klopp era with the final match of the 2023/24 season. Since then, Liverpool's players have been either enjoying their summer breaks or on international duty at Euro 2024 and the Copa America.

Liverpool have confirmed that eight players will return for pre-season training today. Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley, Kostas Tsimikas, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher, Stefan Bajcetic, Sepp van den Berg and Owen Beck will all be at the AXA Training Centre today for their first day of pre-season training.

Other members of the squad will gradually make their return to Merseyside over the course of the summer. Several players are still involved at Euro 2024 and the Copa America, while others are in the early stages of their summer break after featuring for their respective countries.

Slot will take charge of training today as he looks ahead to his first season as Liverpool's new head coach. The Reds will work at the AXA Training Centre before travelling to the United States later this month for a series of friendly fixtures.

Matches against Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United await for the Reds across the Atlantic before returning to England to face Sevilla at Anfield in their final friendly match of the summer. That will all be the build-up to the opening match of the new Premier League season away at Ipswich Town on August 17.
