Liverpool is edging closer to the appointment of Arne Slot with a backroom overhaul on the cards at Anfield. Jürgen Klopp will bid farewell after Sunday's match against Wolves, with assistant Pep Lijnders also departing, alongside coaches Peter Krawietz and Vitor Matos.

It was revealed last week that head of fitness and conditioning Andreas Kornmayer is set to join the exodus, with Andreas Schlumberger also leaving the medical team. Meanwhile, goalkeeping coach John Achterberg has confirmed he will step down after 14 years at Anfield.

And it now appears another change is on the cards with Achterberg's assistant Jack Robinson also set to leave this summer, according to This Is Anfield. He wants a fresh challenge.

Robinson joined Liverpool in 2018 having worked at Manchester United and Leeds, as well as the English FA. He played a key role in the Premier League and Champions League successes but is said to be keen on becoming the lead coach elsewhere next season.

Liverpool's goalkeeping department has also included Brazil legend Taffarel since 2021. He was urged to join by Alisson but it is unclear if he will be part of Slot's backroom team moving forward. The Dutchman's current goalkeeping coach at Feyenoord is Jyri Nieminen.

Slot is already set to bring several members of his coaching team with him, with assistant Sipke Hulshoff clear to join after stepping down from his role with the Dutch national side. Head of performance Ruben Peeters and technical advisor Etiënne Reijnen are also set to arrive, although Feyenoord is reluctant to lose its entire backroom set-up.

Meanwhile, Reds' current No.2 Lijnders is reportedly being lined up for a return to management with Red Bull Salzburg. The Times claims Lijnders, who has also been linked with Ajax and Besiktas, is the top choice for the Austrian side with Matos tipped to become his assistant. The pair could come up against Liverpool as early as next season if Salzburg qualifies for the Champions League.

Liverpool.com says: It was always going to be a summer of huge change at Anfield with many coaches following Klopp out of the exit door. Once his appointment is confirmed, Slot will be busy getting the people he wants to replace those leaving and make sure Liverpool is ready for next season.
