Liverpool fans have been given a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at the club's women's training ground, the AXA Melwood Training Centre.

Available on the club website to book tours, fans can now take a look around Melwood, which was the men's training ground until the move to Kirkby took place in 2020. Supporters can experience a look at the historic site from the inside and hear stories of years gone by.

The tour begins at Anfield before those involved get a coach ride to Melwood. After that comes a visit to the dressing room, the boot rack, pitch-viewing areas, and the gym facilities. Fans can also have a photo taken in the original press room where Jurgen Klopp held pre-match press conferences before moving into his new office a few kilometers away.

Part of the experience is learning about how Bill Shankly put his Liverpool players through their paces back in the day and how it compares to Matt Beard's modern-day, state-of-the-art training methods for LFC Women. Fans can go pitchside and see where LFC Women prepare for matches, and go inside the manager's office, the squad dining room, and their social areas.

AXA Melwood Training Centre Tours are available during selected Saturdays or Sundays in June. It could make the perfect gift ahead of Father's Day, which is this weekend in the UK.

Liverpool.com says: Melwood is an iconic site and it is great news that the Reds women's side moved into it. There were plans to lose it altogether at one point before the club made the move to buy it back and occupy it once again. It was definitely the right call to make.
