Liverpool still have more than a month before they return to the pitch ahead of the new Premier League season.

New head coach Arne Slot will take charge of pre-season training next month at the AXA Training Centre. After assessing the squad, Slot and Co. will travel to the United States for three friendly fixtures against Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United as part of their pre-season campaign.

The Premier League fixtures for the new season will be released later this month. There is already plenty of excitement around the new era at Anfield and what could happen in the summer transfer window.

With Liverpool being a regular topic of debate and discussion, the ECHO has taken a look at what has done the rounds online and across social media within the last 24 hours.

Robertson injury concerns dismissed

Scotland assistant manager John Carver has provided an injury update on Andy Robertson ahead of Euro 2024.

Robertson will captain Scotland at the European Championships this summer. However, Monday saw the Reds left-back go down with a potential injury during a training session.

Scotland will face hosts Germany in their tournament opener on Friday. Carver admitted he does not have many concerns about Robertson's fitness going into the fixture.

"It was a precaution really," Carver told ESPN. "The ball just caught his ankle but he will train tomorrow, he will be fine.

"Obviously at this stage we are going to be extra cautious. But he is ok, he is fine, and we look forward to him joining back in tomorrow."

The ECHO says: Robertson will be determined to play for his country at a major tournament, so he and Scotland's medical team will take every precaution possible to ensure he is fit and available for the Euro 2024 opener against Germany.

Ancelotti gives Klopp exit theory

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has explained a theory as to why Jurgen Klopp decided to leave Liverpool.

Klopp left the Reds this summer after nearly nine years as the club's manager. He has been replaced by Arne Slot who is now officially Liverpool's new head coach.

Ancelotti has suggested the "excessive burdens" of being an elite-level manager were factors in Klopp's decision to step away from Anfield.

"I don't see any particular news, this has always been our job but the Klopp case is significant," Ancelotti told il Giornale. "The continuous pressure, the load of responsibilities become excessive burdens, the obsession takes over. It also happened to Arrigo Sacchi [at AC Milan]."

The ECHO says: Ancelotti is one of the most respected managers in world football, and has more than enough experience to be able to give his opinion on the demands of the job. Klopp and Ancelotti have always had a mutual respect for one another and it's not unreasonable to assume that the Real Madrid boss may correct with his assumption of Klopp's motives to leave Liverpool.
