Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham are inseparable in the England camp at Euro 2024. That's according to Anthony Gordon, who has emerged as a reported target for the Reds this summer.

Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham both started England's first match of the tournament against Serbia, with the Real Madrid ace scoring the opening goal. Alexander-Arnold was handed a start in midfield and was praised by teammates and boss Gareth Southgate.

It remains to be seen if he will keep his place against Denmark on Thursday but his relationship with Bellingham, on and off the pitch, could have a huge bearing on England's chances this summer.

And Newcastle winger Gordon told talkSPORT: "They get on really well. They're always together - breakfast, lunch and dinner. You always see one with the other. It's a good relationship and obviously it's helped them because now Trent's going to the midfield.

"I mean, it benefits Jude because they're friends, they can help each other through it. And Trent's new to the position so he's going to need Jude's help sometimes and having that friendship and that relationship is going to help."

The pair celebrated Bellingham's first-half goal together and the 20-year-old lauded his pal's performance. "I thought Trent was brilliant," he said. "He conducts games so well. He's very calm on the ball. His technique and quality is unmatched, I think, in terms of what he can do with the ball and he's always positive.

"And that really helps someone like me who wants to get on the ball all over the pitch and try and attack their backline so I look forward to having more minutes with him, enjoying how it can develop and how we can get used to each other's game and seeing how far we can take the potential."

The friendship has further fueled speculation over Alexander-Arnold's future at Liverpool. He is out of contract in a year's time and has emerged as a reported target for Real Madrid, where he could link up with Bellingham at club level.

Gordon meanwhile has also been linked with a move to Anfield. It was reported by the Daily Star last month that Liverpool was considering a $127m (£100m/€118m) bid for the ex-Everton player with Newcastle under pressure to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Liverpool.com says: It is clear that Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold get on very well and they could well have been playing in red together, had Liverpool had the finances to challenge Real Madrid. Liverpool will now be hoping they just remain teammates at international level and a new contract for the No. 66 must be a priority this summer.
