Liverpool's new boss Arne Slot is backed by one of the most renowned football agents in the game.

Slot, who has stepped into Jurgen Klopp's shoes with a three-year contract, was represented by Rafaela Pimenta in the deal. Pimenta is hailed as one of the pioneering female "super-agents" in the sport, managing a roster of high-profile players.

The Brazilian lawyer was a protege of the famed agent Mino Raiola until his passing in 2022, after which she took the reins of his empire. Her clientele includes Manchester City's prolific striker Erling Haaland and previously Paul Pogba, before he was hit with a four-year ban for a doping violation.

Pimenta also manages Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, West Ham's Alphonse Areola, ex-PSG star Marco Verratti - now with Qatari club Al-Arabi SC - and Inter Milan's Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Not one to shy away from making a splash, Pimenta, much like her mentor Raiola, has made a name for herself as a formidable negotiator and staunch defender of her clients' interests, often courting controversy along the way.

She's been known to ruffle feathers, as seen when she reportedly irked Feyenoord by shopping Slot around to other clubs. He was previously rumoured to be in talks with Tottenham before Ange Postecoglou was appointed to the post last year.

Slot, who's now overjoyed to be heading to "one of the biggest clubs in the world", expressed his sentiments via a message shared to Feyenoord's followers on their team website.

It read: "It is certainly not an easy decision to close the door behind you at a club where you have experienced so many wonderful moments, and worked so successfully with so many wonderful people.

"But as a sportsman, an opportunity to become a head coach in the Premier League, at one of the biggest clubs in the world, is difficult to ignore. I am grateful to Feyenoord for their willingness to cooperate in this transition."
