Arne Slot could be set for a $50m boost in the summer transfer window, with two of Liverpool’s players said to be attracting interest from across Europe.

The Reds are yet to make any movement so far, although with players returning for the start of pre-season this week, fans will hope to see some new faces arriving soon. There has been no shortage of names linked, and work has been taking place behind the scenes, with talks over a move for Anthony Gordon having broken down recently.

But it’s not just incomings that are expected. Having waved goodbye to the likes of Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara at the end of their contracts, more players could be set to follow them out of the exit door.

To that end, The Athletic has named some of the players who could leave Liverpool during the transfer window, including Luis Diaz, Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips.

Tyler Morton and Sepp van den Berg are also named, with the pair said to be attracting interest from clubs across Europe after impressing on loan last season. Liverpool is claimed to value each player at around $25m (£20m/€24m), although no suitable offers have yet been received.

RB Leipzig has been linked with a move for Morton recently, with Liverpool having reportedly turned down a proposal just last week for the 21-year-old. According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg though, ‘concrete talks’ have taken place.

Van den Berg, meanwhile, has made his intentions to leave Liverpool clear, having spent last season on loan with Bundesliga side Mainz. Speaking to De Telegraaf, the defender said: “You [Liverpool] didn’t radiate confidence in me all this time, but you do want to hinder my future. I want to keep playing weekly and develop myself further.

“In Germany I enjoy Dortmund-out with 70,000 men, Bayern Munich-out against Harry Kane, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Leverkusen, against those kinds of clubs I am challenged every week.”

Van den Berg added: "I also felt 'ready'. I had a good conversation with the management. He said he had received good reports. I understood that I wasn't going to play [Virgil] Van Dijk, [Joël] Matip or [Ibrahima] Konaté out [the team]. But I thought I could be right behind it. When I didn't get a chance again, I said: 'Figure it out, I want to leave.'”

Liverpool.com says: Hopefully we start to see some movement coming into the club soon, but this could provide a nice little boost for Liverpool. At the very least, Van den Berg looks almost certain to move on given his outburst.

It will be worth Arne Slot taking a look at Morton before making a decision on his future, especially since he could provide an option in defensive midfield, probably the one area of the engine room that needs bolstering. If it’s decided though his future lies elsewhere, $50m in the bank could come in handy for the remainder of the summer.
