Liverpool have confirmed that Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo are set to return to Merseyside for pre-season training.

The Reds returned to the AXA Training Centre last week for the start of pre-season preparations. Arne Slot is the new head coach of Liverpool and will be assessing his squad over the next few weeks.

Slot will be preparing his squad ahead of his first Premier League campaign with the Reds. Liverpool will take on Ipswich Town on August 17 at Portman Road in their first competitive fixture of the new campaign.

On Tuesday, Liverpool confirmed that Salah and Endo are set to re-join their teammates in pre-season training. The duo will return to the AXA Training Centre on Wednesday as they begin their preparations for next season.

Salah and Endo will initially undergo fitness tests on their first day back on Merseyside. That will be followed by the duo re-joining their teammates in full training ahead of next season.

Liverpool confirmed last week that eight first-team players had returned for pre-season training, with Jarell Quansah, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher, Conor Bradley, Stefan Bajcetic, Sepp van den Berg, Kostas Tsimikas and Owen Beck all taking part in Slot's first session. They were joined by other players who had spent last season on loan, including Fabio Carvalho and Tyler Morton.

The return of Salah and Endo will see Liverpool's squad gradually near full strengthen ahead of the trip to the United States. The Reds will have three friendly fixtures against Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United across the Atlantic.

Several other players are still enjoying their summer breaks. Others are still on international duty at Euro 2024 and the Copa America, with Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz all representing their respective countries.
