Liverpool seal £44m deal for Monaco utility man Fabinho
Liverpool have completed a deal worth nearly £44million for Monaco’s Fabinho.
The highly sought-after midfielder has been heavily targeted by the likes of Manchester United since the 2016-17 season when the Ligue 1 side pipped Paris Saint-Germain to the league title and reached the Champions League semi-final.
But Jurgen Klopp’s men have pipped their rivals to a deal, with the club confirming the move shortly after reports on Monday night suggested a fee of £43.7m had been agreed with the French club.

Fabinho, 24, made 225 appearances with Monaco, scoring 29 goals and will bolster a Liverpool side still reeling from losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid.
The Brazil man, who can also play at right back, told Liverpoolfc.com: “I am really excited about this move.
“This is something that I always wanted – this is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look exceptional.
“A football club of this size coming after my services, I didn’t have to think that much about coming over.
“I will try to create my own history at this football club. Hopefully, on a personal level, I’m able to win titles with this club.
“I will try to grow and learn and improve myself, and to be part of the club’s history.”
