Sadio Mane’s new deal at Liverpool is just the tip of the iceberg, with three more of Jurgen Klopp’s stars expected to follow suit.

The front three of Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have all signed new contracts at Anfield in the past six months and now the Reds will turn their attention to the other end of the pitch.

England international Joe Gomez has already begun talks with the club, according to The Times, while full backs Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are next on the list.

Gomez has established himself back in Liverpool’s side after missing the end of last season and the World Cup through injury, he has also become a key component of Gareth Southgate’s England team.

The 21-year-old last signed a new deal in January 2017, but will be rewarded after an impressive 2018.

Robertson, meanwhile, has proved to be one of the best buys in recent Premier League history.

He moved from Hull for just £10m in the summer of 2017 and, after a quiet start, was one of their star performers in the run to the Champions League final.

The new Scotland skipper’s current deal runs until 2021, with the option of extending it for a year.

Academy product Alexander-Arnold will follow suit after making the most of his chance following Nathaniel Clyne’s lengthy spell on the sidelines last year.

Another international, the 20-year-old last signed a new deal back in 2016 when he committed to another five years at Anfield.

With Virgil van Dijk signing a long-term deal when he moved from Southampton in January, Liverpool look to have their ever-improving defence tied down for the long-haul.
