Liverpool take on Merseyside rivals Everton at Anfield in the standout tie of the FA Cup third round.

Jurgen Klopp's side defeated Sheffield United on Thursday to take their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 13 points with a game in hand.

It was only a month ago that this fixture heralded the end of Marco Silva's tortured reign at Everton.

However, the Toffees now enter the tie a team refreshed under Carlo Ancelotti, having won two of their last three games.

Here is everything you need to know:

When is it?

The tie will kick-off at 16.01 on Sunday 5 January at Anfield.

How can I watch it?

The match will be broadcast live on BBC1 and BBC Sport online.

Predicted line-ups

Liverpool: Adrian; Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomes; Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita; Mané, Firmino; Salah.

Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Mina, Holgate, Sidibe; Digne, Davies; Delph, Sigurdsson, Richarlison; Kean.

Team news

Liverpool remain without Joel Matip and Fabinho, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also out with injury. Takumi Minamino is available to make his debut, however, the club's new signing is also dealing with a thigh injury.

Everton are without long-term absentee Jean-Philippe Gbamin with a hamstring injury, while both Alex Iwobi and Andre Gomes are also still unavailable.

Prediction

With Liverpool likely to take the opportunity to rotate their squad and Everton recharged since Ancelotti's arrival, the cup tie should be a much tighter affair.

It could see Klopp's side open up more than usual in a tense end-to-end game, complete with goals at either end but ultimately ending with predictable winners.
