The final match of the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool is almost upon us as the Premier League season draws to a close.

For the Reds, the clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield is all about saying goodbye to the German in the best possible way. Ahead of the game, the club have already confirmed their finishing position in the Premier League.

Liverpool sit in third place, seven points behind Arsenal and 11 points ahead of Aston Villa in fourth, meaning that whatever the result on Sunday afternoon, they will finish the season in third place. So what does that mean for the finances for incoming manager Arne Slot?

Based on last season’s figures, a third-place finish sees Liverpool earn £56 million in prize money from the Premier League. Each position in the Premier League is worth £3.1 million more than the one below it.

That is, however, not the only money that the Reds will earn from competing in the Premier League this season. Clubs earn a set amount of money from the league’s domestic and international broadcast agreements.

There is also a payment for facility fees, which is based on how many times each club has played live on TV throughout the season. This will benefit the Reds who were on a joint third 25 times, the same as Manchester United with only Arsenal and Tottenham shown more.

Liverpool will also get a small cash injection from their participation in the Europa League this season. That will, however, take a big leap next season with their participation in the Champions League, Liverpool will make £16 million just by qualifying for the group stage of the competition.

Each victory in the group stage will earn the club an extra £1.8 million with draws worth £601,000. Making it to the round of 16 is worth £8.3 million with the prize money continuing to increase with every stage up to the £15.8 million for getting to the final.
